History

  • July 2015:
    • Some new country flags appeared on the site during these last months: Madagascar, Honduras, Gibraltar, Congo, Afghanistan, Irak. Best greetings to these new visitors.
    • The webhosting contract of this site has been extended and now includes a database module. This will not be significant for you, but for me it's a progress beacause all I have to do is store the visitors counts in the database, and after that all the data is automatically displayed on the page.
    • The visitors statistics have been updated, and are now displayed whith all the years in one single page.
  • August 2014:
    • The Skip-Bo's site has silently had it's fifth anniversary. Which is rather good news! Things are running smooth, and the visitors statistics are not updated anymore, but the site continues to receive an average visitors number from 50 to 100 per month. There's a little bit of frustration, though, because not all visitors succeed in launching the Skip-Bo, or there would be more of them.
    • The Skip-Bo that you find here has been running without problems from 2009 to 2014, with limited rights only. This means that it would never have been allowed to read something from your hard disk or modify any information on it. This was no problem for me, as long as it was possible to play.
    • Since the 2013 version of Java (Java 7 Update 51), due to some security rules enforcements, it has become harder to launch the Skip-Bo. If this happens to you, I suggest you to read the installation page.
  • August 2013:
    • From now on it is possible to resize the game's display, with the mouse. It's not needed anymore to open a menu for that. This enhancement was foreseen and was waiting from the moment when the Skip-Bo was opened in a separate window.
  • March 2013:
    • Due to a hardware problem which happened to the web hosting provider, the anisor website was down for more than four days. Unfortunately there was no way to redirect the visitors to another page or to provide any information about the problem.
  • October 2012:
    • I added som pictures of my region to the website.
    • First arrival of visitors coming from Portugal and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
  • 2012, May, new version of the "Skip-Bo":
    • Game level a little bit harder. Your adversary reduced the quantity of easy points that it used to give you.
    • Choice between two differents sets of cards. The new set is constituted of images based on the Angelina font.
    • Better detection of the mouse double clic. The cards obey mor easily to you when you want to move them.
    • Better resizing of the screen when you select another zoom.
    • Better display of the cards quantity being on the stock piles.
    • Replacement of the message system, to make the messages more visible.
    • Many other minor changes, not directly visible on the screen, but bringing a better readability of the source code.
  • 2012, March:
    • Until this month, the visitors using Chromium could not play to Skip-Bo here. The play would not work with this browser. So I brought a small enhancement to my site, and from now on anisor.ch supports Chromium too.
    • I would like to give a bad point to Chromium, because I am surprized that it still requires obsolete elements in html pages. Up to now, I believed that only Internet Explorer was so disdainfully ignoring some international standards.
    • Up to now, 82 countries are represented in the visitor's statistics. As each day still brings new visits, I was pleased to prolong the website hosting contract until (at least) end of 2012.
  • 2011, September:
    • This month I have the pleasure to deliver on this site a new version of the game. From now on, it will be loaded in a separate window, allowing a much better presentations.
    • There is also a better interaction between the game and your browser. Thus, there is only one location left allowing you to modify the game's options, in the game's menu. Normally, your browser will remember these options, which will be reused during your future visits.
  • 2011, January:
    • In terms of visitor's count, January seems to be a good month, and is making us hope for a nice 2011 year. With the arrivals of Belarus and Slovenia on the site, there are now 70 countries mentioned in the visitor's statistics.
    • The website hosting contract for anisor.ch has been renewed, so the site will be open at least until end of year 2011 :-)
  • 2010, December:
    • Small correction: from now on, the game starts in the language which was selected on the site, so it is not necessary anymore to change the language once again in the game's options.
    • During the month of November, the number of visits of the site approached the record, with an increase mostly due to China and Netherlands. The collection of country flags has also been increased with the apparition of the Peru in the visitor's statistics.
    • Small reorganization of the site, and addition of some new complements.
  • 2010, June:
    • For the first time since it's creation, this site was unavailable for two days (June 4th and 5th), due to external reasons.
  • 2010, April:
    • For the first time, arrival of a visitor from Norway.
  • 2010, March:
    • Saudi Arabia arrived on the anisor site. So up to now there are 63 different countries in the visitor's statistic.
  • 2010, February:
    • Four new countries arrived on the web site: Kenya, Costa Rica, Malaysia and Taiwan.
    • 2010 did a nice start, with an average of 29 visitors per day in January, most of them from Canada.
  • 2010, January:
    • The website hosting contract for anisor.ch has been renewed, so we will be able to play Skip-Bo here for one more year :-)
  • 2009, December:
    • In 2009, we saw on the site visitors from 57 different countries, with a number of visits constantly increasing (more than 3000 visits in December).
  • 2009, November:
    • Four new countries arrived on the web site: Panama, Ireland, Sri Lanka and Israel. So up to now we can see 55 different countries in the visitor's statistic.
  • 2009, September:
    • It is now more difficult to win with the "medium" or "difficult" game levels.
  • 2009, September:
    • We can now modify the game options directly on the internet page (outside of the game itself). The browser can now save them (as a 'cookie') for the next time. Previously, only the image size and the language could be stored and reused by the browser.
    • Welcome to two new countries in the visitor's statistics: Egypt and India.
    • It's now possible to resize the image of the game.
  • 2009, August:
    • The game has been translated in German.
    • When the player clicks on the stock pile, a display shows how many cards are remaining in it.
    • 45 countries are now represented in the visitor's statistics. However I am unable to tell how many of them did really play.
  • 2009, June:
    • When the computer plaid all of the five cards in his hand, the game froze. This problem has been eliminated.
    • Correction of the "undo" and "redo" functions (there were several defaults, for instance the last "redo" did not always give exactly the same cards again).
    • Correction of the choice of the card to be discarded.
    • For the installed version, correction of the game launcher, which did not restore correctly the last used game level.
  • 2009, May:
    • Site rewriting in php language, for enhanced ergonomics and for a better visibility of the English and Italian languages on the Internet.
  • 2009, February :
    • New images format, for more clearness and faster loading.
    • Joker's size increase, to fit the target size.
  • 2009, January:
    • Opening of anisor's site, first in French and English, then in Italian
